President 2008 - 2010

Greetings!

Our year started with a big induction party at Cafe Moda Restuarant with our beloved PAMET-USA Inc. President Mila Braganza inducting the officers for 2008-2010. Immediate past president Lydia Coleman presented awards to deserving officers of her term and also mentioned all the achievements she accomplished during her term including winning the best booth and best performance during the National Convention in San Francisco. Congratulations to Lydia for a job well done !

   

We had our annual  picnic on Memorial Day weekend at the Lakes to welcome all new members. Many thanks to Romy Dublin for his help  on this event.  Everybody had a good time.

     

PAMET-NV joined other chapters at the Biennial National Convention in Houston, Texas on August 27 to 31. Our representatives this year were 3 of our advisers, Ricky Martinez,  Evelyn Sayre, and Leo Fabriquier together with  treasurer Cristina Balmes,  2nd vice president Mariefel Arciaga,  and myself. We brought home some awards from Fun Night , awards of achievements in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of PAMET-USA. Two of us got elected for National office. Leo was 1st Vice President and I got elected as one of the members of the Board of Directors. In addition , we placed second for the best chapter award. 

   

Right after Houston, we became busy with our annual review class  that is now in full force. It started the last Saturday in September.  And, when the holidays come around, we will have our traditional Christmas party which  will be different from the previous years.  PAMET-NEVADA Scholarship Program will be introduced and discussed.  The  fund will be initiated at that time.   It’s a Scholarship Fund for deserving students in the field of Laboratory Science.

      

Lastly, I would like to  thank several special people who helped me in my first year as President: Shirley Cruzada, 1st Vice President, and Interim Recording Secretary (after Lisa Cabiling stepped down), Leo Fabriquier for his intellectual advise and Virgie Quintin for maintaining  PAMET-NV website and the production of our Newsletter. Thanks to all of you and to all the officers. Keep up the good work!!
